原片標題:I Thought I Was Ready for Mount Yarigatake — Then the Weather Turned
原片說明
Mount Yarigatake (槍ヶ岳) had been on my mind for a long time. I can't really explain why this particular mountain. I just wanted to stand up there for myself and find out what it was actually like.
This trip took me from Kamikochi through Yarisawa and into the Japanese Alps, before climbing the exposed final section to the 3,180 m summit of Mount Yarigatake.
The weather didn't make things easy. There was rain, cloud, exposed terrain, a few questionable decisions, and a very long way back down. Somewhere along the way, the trip became about more than simply reaching the summit.
This isn't a route guide or an instructional video. It's an honest record of my experience — the preparation, uncertainty, mistakes, ridiculous moments, summit, and the long journey back to Kamikochi.
Route: Kamikochi → Yarisawa → Yarigatake → Kamikochi
Summit: 3,180 m
Location: Japanese Alps, Japan
Mountain hiking and climbing involve inherent risks. Yarigatake includes steep and exposed terrain, ladders, chains and sections where a fall could have serious consequences. Weather and trail conditions can change rapidly. Prepare appropriately, check current conditions and official guidance, know your limits, and turn back when necessary.
